Location: CEA, Department of Life Science, Institute for biomedical imaging, Molecular Imaging Research Center (MIRCen), Fontenay aux roses, France
Temporary contract for 12 months, renewable. Competitive salary, depending on experience
The Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) is a French government-funded technological research organisation. The CEA is active in four main fields: Energy, information, health technologies, and defence. Our Lab is integrated in the Molecular Imaging Research Center (MIRCen, http://i2bm.cea.fr/dsv/i2bm/Pages/mircen.aspx) from the Institute of Biomedical Imaging (I²BM) included in the CEA’s Life Sciences Division (DSV). MIRCen is based in Fontenay aux roses and is a research Center of excellence focused on neurodegenerative diseases.
We are seeking a Post Doctoral Research Associate to carry out a research project into the development of aptamer-based probes for molecular imaging. This project aims to select aptamers against small compounds and further use these aptamers as probe to monitor in vivo these small compounds using molecular imaging techniques. The project will require 1-to immobilize small compounds on chromatography columns, 2-to select aptamers using the SELEX procedure, 3- to characterize the interaction of the aptamers with its ligands and 4- to use the aptamer in vivo as probe for molecular imaging.
Ideal candidates will hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in biochemistry or chemistry. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: aptamers, SELEX, biochemistry. We value scientists who have a high level of independence and take accountability for their project.
Interested applicants should submit CV, list of publications, a statement of research interests, and the names of at least two referees to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Any enquiries should also be sent to this address.
